Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for February 2021

CareerSource Capital Region’s Executive Center offers

TALLAHASSEE, FL– According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 3.8 percent for February 2021.  This rate was 0.7 percentage point higher than the region’s year ago rate of 3.1 percent and is 1.2 percentage point lower than the state rate of 5.0 percent.

 

Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.6 percent. Leon County followed at 3.8 percent, and Gadsden County was at 5.0percent. There were 7,175 unemployed residents in the region.


The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in February 2021 were as follows:
 

  • Sales Representatives, Wholesale and Manufacturing Except Technical and Scientific Products
  • Software Developers, Applications
  • Managers, All Other
  • First-Line Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers
  • Retail Salespersons
  • Registered Nurses

 

As you can see, many of these top advertised occupations require experience in professional roles.
