Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for October 2023 

CareerSource Capital Region Empowers Job Seekers with Tailored Solutions: Connecting with Opportunities at Recruitment Events
 

GADSDEN, LEON & WAKULLA COUNTIES, Fla.  – According to the FloridaCommerce, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 3.4 percent for October 2023. This rate was 0.6 percentage point greater than the region’s year ago rate of 2.8 percent and was 0.4 percentage point above the state rate of 3.0 percent.  

 

Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.9 percent. Leon County followed at 3.3 percent, and Gadsden County at 3.9 percent.  

 

In October, the labor force was 206,689, up 7,199 (+3.6 percent) over the year. There were 6,949 unemployed residents in the region. 

 

The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in October 2023 were as follows: 

 

  • Registered Nurses 
  • Retail Salespersons 
  • Sales Representatives, Wholesale and Manufacturing Except Technical    and Scientific Products
  • First-Line Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers
  • Software Developers
  • Customer Service Representatives
  • Computer Occupations, All Others
