Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for November 2023 

Ring in the New Year with a New Career Path or Plan to Grow Your Career

 

GADSDEN, LEON & WAKULLA COUNTIES, Fla. – According to FloridaCommerce, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 3.2 percent for November 2023. This rate was 0.4 percentage point greater than the region’s year ago rate of 2.8 percent and was 0.3 percentage point above the state rate of 2.9 percent.  

 

Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.7 percent. Leon County followed at 3.2 percent, and Gadsden County at 3.6 percent.  

 

In November, the labor force was 204,550, up 7,315 (+3.7 percent) over the year. There were 6,469 unemployed residents in the region. 

 

The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in November 2023 were as follows: 

 

  • Registered Nurses 
  • Retail Salespersons 
  • Sales Representatives, Wholesale and Manufacturing Except Technical    and Scientific Products
  • First-Line Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers
  • Secretaries and Administrative Assistants, Except Legal, Medical, and Executive
  • Customer Service Representatives
