Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for February 2024

Career Advisors: The Key to Unlocking the Job Market

 

GADSDEN, LEON & WAKULLA COUNTIES, Fla. – According to the FloridaCommerce, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 3.3 percent for February 2024.

 

The region’s February 2024 unemployment rate was 0.4 percentage point greater than the region’s year ago rate of 2.9 percent. Wakulla County had the lowest unemployment rate 2.9 percent in CareerSource Capital Region followed by Leon County 3.3 percent and Gadsden County 3.9 percent. The region's February 2024 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage point above the state rate of 3.1 percent. There was a total of 6,597 unemployed residents in the Capital Region.
 

The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in February 2024 were as follows:

  • Registered Nurses
  • Retail Salespersons
  • Sales Representatives, Wholesale and Manufacturing, Except Technical and Scientific Products
  • Fast Food and Counter Workers
  • Medical and Health Services Managers
  • Managers, All Other

Solutions CareerSource Capital Region offers career seekers one-on-one career advising, interviewing, and resume-writing assistance, employment workshops, and labor market information. Eligible individuals may be enrolled in a paid internship, classroom training that leads to a certification, job shadowing experiences, and pre-apprenticeships or on-the-job training.  All career seeker solutions are offered at no cost to the career seeker.
