The Dynamic Futures Career Expo is exclusively for individuals ages 16-24 to interview for open jobs and paid internships with local employers who are looking to hire. In addition to hosting this event, CareerSource Capital Region can provide eligible individuals with financial aid and educational and career development opportunities, which are available through the Dynamic Futures young adult program.
Three years after dropping out of high school at the end of her senior year, Christona, a current program participant in Quincy, found out about the Dynamic Futures program at the Gadsden County Job Fair last year.
“Sitting home one day,” Christona recalls, “I read on Facebook about a job fair being held at CareerSource Capital Region.... They began to work with me knowing that one day I would make them and my family proud of me. I felt at that moment I was coming back to life. Through the process I went back to obtain my high school diploma which I received as of December 15, 2016.” Today, Christona is working as a greeter through her paid internship. She looks forward to continuing her education at Tallahassee Community College later this year.
Since enrolling in Dynamic Futures, Christona has also helped four other friends enroll in the program. “I strongly urge anyone in the qualifying age group to contemplate joining the Dynamic Futures Program. It’s really helpful and accommodating for our youth today.”
