CareerSource Capital Region Recognizes Employer for Commitment to Hiring Veterans
Florida Department of Corrections Recognized as 2022 Veteran Friendly Employer
GADSDEN, LEON, & WAKULLA COUNTY, FL – In honor of Veterans month, Florida Department of Corrections was recognized for its commitment to hiring veterans by CareerSource Capital Region.
Florida Department of Corrections was awarded the 2022 CareerSource Capital Region Veteran Friendly Employer of the Year on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, by Keith Gerena, Local Veterans Employment Representative, and Trish Yahn, Sr. Director.
In the last 2 years, this state agency has hired approximately 17 Veterans, Reservists and Active-Duty military.
Florida Department of Corrections has several current job vacancies for Correctional Officer. New Correctional Officers are guaranteed a starting salary of $20 per hour. In addition, Wakulla Correctional Institution is offering a $1,000 Hiring Bonus due to its high number of vacancies.
