REGIONAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE DECREASES TO 3.4% FOR DECEMBER 2017

  

Increased Competition in Job Search Market Opens the Door for Businesses to Connect with Hidden Talent

TALLAHASSEE, FL – According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 3.4 percent for December 2017.

The region’s rate was 0.2 percent lower than the region’s rate for the previous month and 0.3 percent lower than the state’s rate for December 2017. Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 3.0 percent. Leon County followed at 3.2 percent. Gadsden County was at 4.5 percent.
 

 

The top advertised occupations in the Capital Region in December 2017 were as follows:
 

  • Registered Nurses (311 jobs)
  • Computer Systems Analysts (237 jobs)
  • Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers (184 jobs)
