REGIONAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE DECREASES FOR SEPTEMBER 2017

             

CareerSource Capital Region to Host Paychecks for Patriots Hiring Fair Nov. 7


TALLAHASSEE, FL – According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties decreased to 3.3 percent for September 2017.

The region’s rate was 0.7 percent lower than the region’s rate for August 2017 and 0.3 percent lower than the state’s rate for August 2017. Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region with 2.9 percent. Leon County followed at 3.2 percent. Gadsden County was at 4.3 percent.

As a part of an ongoing effort to connect employers with the talent they need, CareerSource Capital Region will host Paychecks for Patriots on Nov. 7 at the FSU Turnbull Conference Center from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“Paychecks for Patriots is an incredible opportunity for all career seekers, but namely veterans, to meet with 45 employers hiring for positions in various industries,” said Jim McShane, CareerSource Capital Region Chief Executive Officer. “During this event we also will be recognizing three local businesses for their dedication to hiring veterans.”

This event provides veterans and their families with exclusive access to employers from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Candidates should bring several copies of their resume and dress for an interview. Free professional headshots also will be available.
