Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for November 2022

CareerSource Capital Region to host Rapid Response Open House in Gadsden County for Dislocated Workers affected by Mass Layoffs

 

GADSDEN, LEON, & WAKULLA COUNTY, FL– According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 2.7 percent for November 2022. The region’s November 2022 unemployment rate was 0.4 percent lower than the region’s year ago rate of 3.1 percent and was 0.1 percent above the state’s rate of 2.6 percent. Wakulla County’s unemployment rate is the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.3 percent. Leon County followed at 2.7 percent. Gadsden County was at 3.2 percent. There was a total of 5,432 unemployed residents in the region.
 

The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in November 2022 were as follows:
 

  • Registered Nurses
  • Software Developers, Applications
  • Retail Salespersons
  • Managers, All Other
  • Sales Representatives, Wholesale and Manufacturing, Except Technical and Scientific Products
  • First-Line Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers

 

CareerSource Capital Region will host a Rapid Response- Dislocated Worker Open House on Wednesday, December 21st, for individuals affected by mass layoffs in Gadsden County. This event will assist individuals with finding new employment and allow those affected to gain a personal introduction to agency partners and access resources for stability during this transition.

Career seekers will learn about Rapid Reemployment Solutions such as: 

  • Resume writing assistance
  • Job referrals
  • Mock interviews
  • Computers, fax, telephone and copy services

Meet with partner agencies on hand to assist with the following:

  • Assistance applying for reemployment assistance
  • Assistance applying for SNAP (food stamps) & Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

“Mass layoffs can have a short-term and long-term impact on individuals and their families, especially during the holiday season,” said CareerSource Capital Region Rapid Response Coordinator, Reenee Williams. “This event can be the opportunity to assist individuals affected by mass layoffs by employers like Trulieve, find new a new job and connect with state agencies for stability and guidance applying for various solutions. We are here to help.”
