Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for November 2020

CareerSource Capital Region offers career seekers recruitment solutions and job search resources.

               

TALLAHASSEE, FL– According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 5.6 percent for November 2020.

 

The region’s November 2020 unemployment rate was 2.8 percentage point higher than the region’s year ago rate of 2.8 percent. The region's unemployment rate was 0.7 percentage point lower than the state rate of 6.3 percent. Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 3.9 percent, Leon County followed at 5.6 percent, and Gadsden County was at 7.5 percent. There were a total of 10,248 unemployed residents in the Capital Region.
 

The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in November 2020 were as follows:
 

  • Software Developers, Applications
  • Sales Representatives, Wholesale & Manufacturing, Except Technical and Scientific Products
  • Retail Salespersons
  • Customer Service Representatives
  • First-Line Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers
  • Managers, All Other
  • Registered Nurses
