Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for March 2023
CareerSource Capital Region offers Innovative Job Search Solutions to Empower the Public During Life Changes and Beyond
GADSDEN, LEON & WAKULLA COUNTIES, Fla. – According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 2.7 percent for March 2023.
The region’s March 2023 unemployment rate was 0.3 percentage points lower than the region’s year ago rate of 3.0 percent. Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.3 percent; Leon County followed at 2.6 percent; and Gadsden County was at 3.3 percent. There were a total of 5,335 unemployed residents in the Capital Region.
The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in March 2023 were as follows:
- Registered Nurses
- Retail Salespersons
- First-Line Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers
- Maintenance and Repair Workers, General
- Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers
- Automotive Specialty Technicians
