Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for March 2022

CareerSource Capital Region Assists Local Employer Fill Multiple Positions in Leon County!

 

TALLAHASSEE, FL– According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 2.6 percent for March 2022.  This rate was 2.0 percentage point lower than the region’s year ago rate of 4.6 percent and 0.4 percentage point lower than the region’s rate in February 2022.  The state’s unemployment rate for March 2022 was 2.7 percent.

 

Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.1 percent. Leon County followed at 2.6 percent, and Gadsden County at 3.3 percent.

 

In March, the labor force was 192,720, up 5,874 (+3.1) over the year. There were 5,060 unemployed residents in the region.


The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in March 2022 were as follows:

  • Registered Nurses
  • Sales Representatives, Wholesale and Manufacturing Except Technical and Scientific Products
  • Retail Salespersons
  • Software Developers, Applications
  • Managers, All Other
  • Customer Service Representatives

 

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, unemployment continue to hold to a record 50-year low.
