Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for February 2023

GADSDEN, LEON & WAKULLA COUNTIES, Fla. – According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 2.7 percent for February 2023.
The region’s February 2023 unemployment rate was 0.6 percentage points lower than the region’s year ago rate of 3.3 percent. Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.3 percent, Leon County followed at 2.6 percent, and Gadsden County was at 3.4 percent. There was a total of 5,331 unemployed residents in the Capital Region.
The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in February 2023 were as follows:
• Registered Nurses
• Software Developers, Applications
• Sales Representatives, Wholesale & Manufacturing, Except Technical and Scientific Products
• Managers, All Other
• Retail Salespersons
• Customer Service Representatives
• First-Line Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers
