Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for SEPTEMBER 2021
Paychecks for Patriots Hiring Fair Set for November 9
TALLAHASSEE, FL – According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 4.1 percent for September 2021.The region’s September 2021 unemployment rate was 1.1 percent lower than the region’s year ago rate of 5.2 percent and was 0.2 percentage lower to the state’s rate of 4.3 percent. Wakulla County’s unemployment rate is the lowest in the Capital Region at 3.1 percent. Leon County followed at 4.0 percent. Gadsden County was at 5.3 percent. There were a total of 7,908 unemployed residents in the Capital Region.
The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in September 2021 were as follows:

- Medical and Health Services Managers
- Computer Systems Analysts
- Business Intelligence Analysts
- Computer User Support Specialists
