JOB FAIR AND EXPO PRESENTS JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCALS SEEKING CAREER ADVANCEMENT

More than 100 companies with available positions are set to meet job-ready applicants in the Tallahassee metro area

TALLAHASSEE, FL – WORKFORCE plus presents the 2014 Job Fair and Expo on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center from 10a.m. to 2p.m., which is offered at no cost to job seekers and employers.

More than 100 businesses at the job fair are hiring candidates for full-time, part-time and temporary positions in the Capital Region. Various industries represented include healthcare, government, manufacturing, retail, financial services and law enforcement.

“In order to continue to reduce our region’s unemployment numbers, we have to find creative ways to match job-ready applicants with employers who are hiring,” said WORKFORCE plus CEO Jim McShane. “Our annual job fair is just one way we are providing re-employment opportunities in our surrounding communities.”

Job seekers are encouraged to bring several copies of their resume, to dress professionally, and to register a profile in the Employ Florida Marketplace before arriving to avoid long lines. To prepare for the job fair, WORKFORCE plus is hosting several workshops including basic resume writing, interviewing techniques, dress for success, cover letter basics, network building and more.
