CareerSource Capital Region’s Career Centers to Begin Accepting In-Person Appointments

Career Centers Continue to Provide Remote Assistance to the Public

TALLAHASSEE, Fla –  CareerSource Capital Region will begin accepting limited in-person appointments at its career centers in Gadsden, Leon and Wakulla counties starting  Monday, June 1, 2020 to assist individuals who do not have computer access and those with limited computer skills with specific service including:

  • Basic ReEmployment assistance services
  • Job Search registration and/or assistance
  • Access to computers, printers and faxing related to job search or public benefits

Individuals with access to their own computers are encouraged to utilize their personal access instead of scheduling appointments at the centers.  Remote assistance will continue to be provided online, by phone and email for all other career seekers. Career seekers can continue to search for jobs and access information about leading industry sectors, as well as learn about training and education assistance online at www.employflorida.com and www.careersourcecapitalregion.com.

Individuals seeking in-person appointments should call the career center within the county in which they live during the following hours:  8:30am-6:00pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30am-1:00pm on Friday.

Appointments will be limited by both physical capacity and time restraints. All appointments must be scheduled prior to admittance to a career center.  Military veterans and eligible dependents will receive priority of service.

“We understand the urgent need to assist individuals who have lost their jobs or who have been laid-off due to COVID-19,” said Jim McShane, CEO of CareerSource Capital Region. “We are eager to assist anyone in the public who needs our help, and we hope to do so while following the strictest safety measures to protect career seekers with appointments in our centers as well as our staff.”

Toward that end, CareerSource Capital Region will follow social distancing and safety guidelines including requiring individuals who enter the center to wear face masks and use hand sanitizer upon admittance. Additionally, individuals with appointments will submit to temperature checks and CDC screening questions prior to entering the center. Failure to comply with the requirements listed above or failure to meet the requirements of the screenings will result in the individual not entering the center.

Staff will also thoroughly clean and sanitize work areas between each scheduled appointment in addition to the periodic sanitizing that will occur throughout the business day.

Individuals should arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to and not more than 15 minutes late to their scheduled appointment.  Individuals arriving earlier than 10 minutes will be asked to wait outside the center, and individuals arriving more than 15 minutes late to their appointment will be rescheduled for a later appointment.  Other individuals including children accompanying those scheduled for appointments will not be permitted to enter the center.
