Salute the Employers Who Hire Veterans
CareerSource Capital Region Calls for Nominations of Veteran Friendly Employers in the Capital Area
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – CareerSource Capital Region is pleased to announce a call for nominations of businesses who have pledged to put heroes to work. Businesses may nominate others or self-nominate their own business to be recognized as a 2020 Veteran Friendly Employer.
CareerSource Capital Region’s Veteran Friendly Employer Program is designed to recognize employers in the capital region who demonstrate a commitment to providing quality employment opportunities for military veterans and their families.
Nominations are open through September 15, 2020.
Selected employers will be recognized at the 2020 Paychecks for Patriots hiring fair, slated for November. In addition, Veteran Friendly Employers are presented with an insignia that is placed at their business location, as well as receive digital and traditional media publicity for their unwavering commitment to veterans.
“We are honored to recognize local businesses such as 2-1-1 Big Bend, Consolidated Dispatch Agency, Williams Communications and others who are dedicated to considering veterans for employment and promotional opportunities,” said CareerSource Capital Region Local Veterans Employer Representative, Derrick Sykes. “Veterans bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and abilities to civilian workplaces, and we encourage local employers to nominate others or self-nominate if they are also committed to hiring veterans in our community.”
