On July 13, 2023, Mr. Walters, a determined career seeker in need of training, sought assistance at the Leon Career Center. Mr. Walters was there to request a meeting with the Managing Director, having encountered numerous obstacles during his attempts to enroll in a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program. He had become quite frustrated as he had diligently submitted all the required documents, but it seemed like nothing was progressing as it should.
Mr. Walters explained his grievances, detailing the tremendous challenges he was currently facing. He stressed that this opportunity was crucial for him to provide for his family, all while striving to lead an honest and dignified life. After a renewed effort and resubmission of his pre-enrollment activities, he received the welcome news that he had been accepted into the Talent and Training Solutions program. With this advancement, Mr. Walters was able to enroll in a CDL program with one of our eligible providers and continue through the program with the support of CareerSource Capital Region.
Fast forward to September 2023, and Mr. Walters returned to the Leon center, beaming with pride. He had successfully completed the CDL training program and was ready to present his hard-earned certification and license. Overjoyed and grateful, Mr. Walters took a moment to express his heartfelt gratitude to his dedicated Career Advisor and the supportive Managing Director, who had invested time and effort to guide him along the way. In a delightful twist, Mr. Walters shared that it was also his birthday that day, prompting the entire office to come together and sing a spirited rendition of "Happy Birthday" in celebration of his special day.
Today, Mr. Walters finds himself gainfully employed in the Transportation and Logistics field, a testament to his perseverance and the unwavering support he received on his journey to a brighter future.
