Overview

The Migrant Seasonal Farm Worker (MSFW) program offers employment services to individuals who are legally eligible to work in the United States and of legal age to perform work for wages. Program legislation is in place to ensure that an equitable level of service is provided to the farmworker community. Career Centers considered “significant regions” employ a full-time, year-round outreach worker who conducts outreach activities to accomplish the maximum penetration into the farmworker population. Gadsden County is one of nine significant regions in Florida.

Basic services provided to MSFWs by the one stop career center are:

  • Job search assistance and placement
  • Registration assistance
  • Testing
  • Counseling
  • Training opportunities
  • Referrals to supportive services
  • Job development
  • Referrals to other organizations that serve migrant and seasonal farm workers
  • Complaint resolution
  • Farm worker rights and labor law information
