Sharon W., a newly certified phlebotomist who moved to Crawfordville earlier this year, was struggling to find employment. Her work history included being a hair stylist and home care assistant. She was barely making ends meet at $10 hr.
At our career center, Sharon received assistance with Employ Florida registration; the creation of a resume that included not only her work experience, but newly earned education and career objectives; and job search assistance for phlebotomy positions.
With staff help, Sharon was able to apply, interview and accept a position as a phlebotomist making $15.35 hr!
