Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for April 2022

TALLAHASSEE, FL– According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 2.4 percent for April 2022. This rate was 1.9 percentage point lower than the region’s year ago rate of 4.3 percent and is equal to the state rate of 2.4 percent.
Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.0 percent. Leon County followed at 2.4 percent, and Gadsden County was at 3.1 percent.
In April, the labor force in the three counties was 193,777, up 5,813 (+3.1) over the year. There were 4,719 unemployed residents in the region.
