REGIONAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE ANNOUNCED FOR SEPTEMBER 2018

CareerSource Capital Region to host Manufacturing and Construction Sector Round

 

TALLAHASSEE, FL – According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 2.9 percent for September 2018.

The region’s rate was 0.1 percent lower than the state’s rate of 3.0 percent for September 2018. Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.5 percent. Leon County followed at 2.8 percent. Gadsden County was at 3.8 percent. There were a total of 5,484 unemployed residents in the Capital Region.
 

The top six advertised occupations in the CareerSource Capital Region (5) in September 2018 were as follows:

  • Registered Nurses
  • Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers
  • Retail Salespersons
  • Computer Systems Analysts
  • First-Line Supervisors of Office and Administrative Support Workers
  • Computer User Support Specialists
