REGIONAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE ANNOUNCED FOR NOVEMBER 2018

CareerSource Capital Region to host Health Care Recruitment Events               

TALLAHASSEE, FL – According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 3.0 percent for November 2018.

The region’s rate was equal to the state’s rate of 3.0 percent for November 2018. Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.7 percent. Leon County followed at 2.9 percent. Gadsden County was at 3.9 percent. There were a total of 5,625 unemployed residents in the Capital Region.

The top six advertised occupations in the CareerSource Capital Region (5) in November 2018 were as follows:
 

  • Registered Nurses
  • Retail Salespersons
  • First-Line Supervisor of Retail Sales Workers
  • Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers
  • Customer Service Representatives
  • Nursing Assistants

“The Health Care Industry continues to be in high demand in the Capital Region,” said Kara Palmer Smith, Senior Director of CareerSource Capital Region. “We have two upcoming recruitment events, one with Centre Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center on January 22nd and the other with Love and Kindness Disabled & Elderly Companionship on January 31st. Both businesses are looking for skilled and caring Registered Nurses, LPN’s, CNA’s and HHA.”
