REGIONAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE ANNOUNCED FOR FEBRUARY 2018

Unemployment Rate Decreases to 3.6% for February 2018

TALLAHASSEE, FL – According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 3.6 percent for December 2017.

The region’s rate was 0.6 percent lower than the region’s rate for the previous year and 0.2 percent lower than the state’s rate for February 2018. Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 3.3 percent. Leon County followed at 3.5 percent. Gadsden County was at 4.8 percent.  There were 6,769 unemployed residents in the region.

The top advertised occupations in the Capital Region in February 2018 were as follows:

  • Registered Nurses (341 jobs)
  • Computer Systems Analysts (236 jobs)
  • Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers (186 jobs)
