NATIONAL HIRE A VET DAY EVENT SET FOR JULY 25TH

CareerSource Capital Region Hosts an Exclusive Workshop and Hiring Fair for Military Veterans

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – CareerSource Capital Region is proud to present National Hire a Vet Day – a workshop and hiring fair dedicated exclusively for Military Veterans in the Capital Region.

“Our National Hire a Veteran Day event is an amazing opportunity for veterans to start a career, make a change, find gainful employment and showcase their talents, skills and work ethics. Veterans will gain knowledge of Employ Florida, People First and how to utilize Florida’s employment systems. Additionally, veterans will have a chance to get acquainted with local businesses who are eager to hire them,” said Lorraine Wells, Jobs and Benefits Administrator. “Florida has the third largest population of veterans in the nation; our veterans bring in more than $17 billion in federal dollars per year, and while we have earned the reputation of being a veteran-friendly state, we can’t stop there.”

The morning session will include information on career preparation, where veterans will learn about the Veteran Preference and Priority of Service programs and how to access and navigate Florida’s Employment System. Free professional headshots will also be available.

Lunch will be provided to all veterans in attendance. Military Veterans who are interested in attending this action packed day must register for the event at www.careersourcecapitalregion.com. Veterans can also visit a CareerSource Capital Region career center prior to the event for assistance with their resume.
