“Our National Hire a Veteran Day event is an amazing opportunity for veterans to start a career, make a change, find gainful employment and showcase their talents, skills and work ethics. Veterans will gain knowledge of Employ Florida, People First and how to utilize Florida’s employment systems. Additionally, veterans will have a chance to get acquainted with local businesses who are eager to hire them,” said Lorraine Wells, Jobs and Benefits Administrator. “Florida has the third largest population of veterans in the nation; our veterans bring in more than $17 billion in federal dollars per year, and while we have earned the reputation of being a veteran-friendly state, we can’t stop there.”

The morning session will include information on career preparation, where veterans will learn about the Veteran Preference and Priority of Service programs and how to access and navigate Florida’s Employment System. Free professional headshots will also be available.

Lunch will be provided to all veterans in attendance. Military Veterans who are interested in attending this action packed day must register for the event at Veterans can also visit a CareerSource Capital Region career center prior to the event for assistance with their resume.

CareerSource Capital Region would like to thank event sponsors: Starbucks, Publix, BJ’s Restaurants & Brewhouse, and Mission BBQ for their invaluable support.
