CAREERSOURCE CAPITAL REGION HOSTS WAKULLA COUNTY JOB FAIR

Employers with current vacancies hope to fill jobs

Tallahassee, Fla. – CareerSource Capital Region (CSCR) will host its second Wakulla County job fair on Thursday, May 12 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wakulla One Stop Community Center.  This fair will feature local Wakulla county employers seeking candidates for current job vacancies.

Career seekers that attend the fair will get an opportunity to speak with prospective employers and gather employment information directly from representatives in health care, non-profit, government, manufacturing, retail and other sectors.

“Employers look to us to connect them with qualified talent, and our job fairs have proven to do just that,” said Kara Palmer Smith, director of client solutions and advancement. “When employers come to our job fairs, they are not just coming to meet and greet, they have open positions that they need to fill, and that’s what this job fair is all about.”

The job fair is open to the public and offered at no cost to career seekers.

Approximately 20 employers looking to fill full-time, part-time or temporary positions are set to attend. Some employers may also conduct on-site interviews.

In order to participate in the job fair, career seekers must be registered in the Employ Florida Marketplace at www.EmployFlorida.com.  Professional dress is required, and career seekers should bring several copies of their résumé.

To prepare career seekers, CareerSource Capital Region is hosting a “Get Hired!” workshop at the Wakulla County Public Library on May 7 at 10 a.m.   For more information, call (850) 617-4592.

The Wakulla Chamber of Commerce and Wakulla County Board of Commissioners are the sponsors for the job fair.
