CAREERSOURCE CAPITAL REGION BRINGS JOB FAIR BACK TO GADSDEN COUNTY

Gadsden County job fair will connect employers and residents

Tallahassee, Fla. - In an effort to connect Gadsden County residents to open positions inside county lines, CareerSource Capital Region, Gadsden County’s Board of County Commissioners, State Representative Alan Williams and Big Bend Transit are joining forces to connect employers and residents, by hosting the 2015 Gadsden County Job Fair on April 28, at the Florida Public Safety Institute.

The job fair will feature local Gadsden county employers seeking candidates for current job vacancies. Employer booths are free and filling up quickly. All employers interested in attending can register through CareerSource Capital Region by calling (850) 413-0315 or emailing [email protected].

“Employers look to us to connect them to qualified talent and our job fairs have proven to do just that,” said Jim McShane, CEO of Career Source Capital Region. “When employers come to our recruitment events, they are not just coming to meet and greet, they have open positions that they need to fill, and that’s what this job fair is all about.”

Job seekers who attend the job fair will get an opportunity to speak with prospective employers and gather employment information directly from representatives in financial services, health care, non-profit, government, manufacturing and other industry sectors. Individuals attending the fair in hopes of securing employment should come professionally dressed with copies of their current resume and be registered as a job seeker on www.EmployFlorida.com, through which they can review and apply for job postings of participating employers ahead of time.

“Job creation remains my top priority,” stated Rep. Williams. “I am proud of the efforts to address the issue of unemployment in Gadsden County.   This job fair offers a way to provide employment resources and opportunities to our neighbors, friends and family.  I want to thank CareerSource and our employer participants for partnering with us, and I hope that everyone will take full advantage of the job fair.”

For job seekers looking to enhance their experience at the job fair, CareerSource Capital Region’s Gadsden County Career Center will be presenting their signature “Working a Job Fair” workshop every Wednesday leading up to the job fair. At this workshop, job seekers can develop an effective elevator speech and create a strategy for making a great first impression on the employers who attend the job fair.  For anyone seeking employment, this is an exceptional opportunity to collect great tips on how to work a job fair to their advantage. To learn more about the workshop and when the next one will be held call (850) 875-4040.

For job seekers who desire to attend the job fair, but have limited transportation, Big Bend Transit will provide free transportation from the Winn Dixie located on West Jefferson Street in Quincy to the job fair. Residents can easily connect to this free service by utilizing the Gadsden Connector from Chattahoochee, Gretna, Greensboro, Havana or Quincy or the Gadsden Express from Midway and transferring to the free shuttle to the job fair.

“The upcoming Gadsden County Job Fair was engineered by all partners with one main goal in mind and that is to increase job opportunities for the residents of Gadsden County, said Commissioner Brenda Holt. “Great partners doing great things is what happens when you combine the interests and goals of CareerSource Capital Region, the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners, Representative Alan Williams and Big Bend Transit.  I commend Big Bend Transit for being so forthcoming in providing free transportation for our residents to and from this event.”
