CAREERSOURCE CAPITAL REGION ANNOUNCES A NEW ROUND OF ENTREPRENEURIAL TRAINING

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. CareerSource Capital Region is currently taking applications for participants in the next round of Startup Quest® entrepreneurial training.

Startup Quest® is a 10-session, hands-on training program that trains individuals to become entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs by increasing the individuals’ skills and abilities, making them more marketable to companies looking to hire professionals.  The program focuses on the processes and steps required for a hypothetical business startup to transform an innovation into a product for the marketplace.

CareerSource Capital Region is offering an information session for individuals interested in participating on Thursday, August, 18, 2016, from 1:30PM until 2:30PM at Christian Heritage Church, 2820 Sharer Road, Tallahassee, Fla.  Pre-application and doors open at 12:30PM.

“Startup Quest® offers entrepreneurship training, which provides graduates options for working with small or startup businesses or even for themselves,” said Kara Palmer.  “Startup Quest® pairs technological innovations developed at Florida’s public universities and NASA with highly successful entrepreneur mentors who help qualified professional-level participants learn how new inventions and technologies are brought to market.”

Past participants say Startup Quest® is a “training experience of a life time.”  The program made them more marketable to companies looking to hire professionals in all industries.

Startup Quest® is now funded through a STEM Ready, three-year, $10 million U.S. Department of Labor grant providing training, internships and job placement assistance in STEM careers in the Gainesville, Tallahassee and Daytona regions.

The goal of the program is to provide graduates with the skills needed to launch their own companies, or to apply what they’ve learned in the program at new jobs with established businesses. Other participants use the Startup Quest® experience to expand their own existing companies.  This training program is offered at no cost to participants.

Interested individuals can register online or visit www.careersourcecapitalregion.com or contact Kara Palmer Smith at [email protected] or (850) 617-4605.
